Sunday Sermon!

Hello my loyal disciples! Today marks day 73 of the 75 hard. I am so close to finishing this challenge...I can hardly stand it! This week has been a very difficult week for me. I lost a very good friend and I have been deeply affected by his passing. I thought about quitting this  challenge, but I made a very subtle decision to continue. It was not firm or assertive, but rather very faint. Sometimes important decisions come from the smallest inner voices. I know for certain if I quit this challenge I would be in a very poor mental state. Lifting weights and being around other people has been helping tremendously. Generally, when I lose someone close to me I become an escapist. I plunge headfirst into some sort of entertainment (i.e Netflix, HBO, Reddit) to escape the pain. More often than not, I end up staying in an artificial world for much longer than I intend to, and the consequences end up being dire. However, this time I took the right approach. I took my confusion and rage out on the iron. After my lift I was taking a shower and it all hit me. I was grieving. I realized that I made the correct decision. I had a good lift and I know Ronnie would have been proud. The relief I felt in that moment was indescribable. I freed myself from making the past mistake of shutting down. I was able to confront a problem in a healthy manner. We must keep pushing in all areas of life. I am very proud of myself right now. Tomorrow is a new day, and I am going to take it moment by moment, because that is all we have. The battle against the chub rages on tomorrow! May the Church of the Chubb reign supreme!
